The Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria has said a line-up of local and foreign experts are billed to speak at the second edition of the AdCademy Masterclass Series.

The AAAN Vice President/Chairman of the AdCademy Committee, Jenkins Alumona; and acting AdCademy Director, Olasunkanmi Atolagbe, in a joint statement, noted that the masterclass, which will be held virtually from August 26 to 29, is in partnership with the Henley Business School.

The statement said those expected at the three-day training programme included Professor Adeyinka Adewale and Mr Barry Van Zyl of Henley Business School; a reputed data expert, Mr Bayo Adekambi; and Chairman, Nigerian Bar Association, Business Law Section, Ayuli Jemide.

Marketing and communications experts on the line-up included Prof Emevwo Biakolo of the School of Communication of the Pan-Atlantic University; Chief Executive Officer, MultiChoice Nigeria, John Ugbe; and Leke Alder of Alder Consulting; Chief Executive Officer, Tytron Group, Austin Ufomba; and Group Head, Retail Marketing and Analytics, Access Bank Plc, Mrs. Chioma Afe.

The Masterclass, with the theme ‘The Winning Strategy,’ is a continuation of the AAAN’s efforts at expanding the industry talent pool.

The programme is open to mid-level management staff in brand and client service, copywriters, artists, account/strategic planners, media managers and professionals involved in related functions in the private and public sectors.

AAAN President, Steve Babaeko, explained that the programme was aimed at providing participants with deep strategic thinking skills and practical advertising craft that would help them become first-class professionals.

“We also looked at the gap within our industry and discovered that while people know about communication and creativity, they need to learn about the rudiments of the business. That vision works well with Henley Business School,” said Babaeko.
